A warm welcome at Grantham Asda!

November 28th, 2017 by

On Saturday 18th November we were welcomed at Grantham Asda to fundraise as well as raise some awareness about who we are and what we do.

The response from Grantham shoppers was amazing and we managed to raise £736.32. But it wasn’t just the money, the warmth and welcome from every shopper who passed us blew us away. Many people stopped to chat with us, take our leaflets and engaged with us. We were supported by Karen, the Asda Community Champion, who sang for us throughout the day. She’s a fantadtic singer and had shoppers (and us!) singing and dancing along with her.

We’d like to thank Asda, Karen and our volunteers who came and stood with us in the cold for six hours. To be so warmly welcomed and supported by the community is a feeling that will stay with us for a long time!

A generous donation from a client

September 28th, 2017 by

Kath, our ISVA, supports clients in many ways. One part of her role is to support clients that are going through the criminal justice process and once that process is over she will support them in making an CICA application if it’s appropriate and that is what the client would like.

Recently, one of Kath’s clients made a CICA application and was awarded a sum of money.

We fully understand that there can be a great deal of mixed emotions for our clients connected with being awarded money through the CICA process – anger that they are in such a position in the first place to being happy that they have a sum of money that can mean that they can go on holiday or help a loved one. Often ISVA clients are also going through the counselling process with us as well and when a CICA application is made, and then possibly awarded, their counsellor is there to help support them with their feelings around the process.

Once Jane* had been awarded the money she decided that she would like to make a donation to the service of £2,000.

Though we do not expect our clients to donate to us at all, this donation means that we are now able to finish off another counselling room with a new radiator and other things to make the room as warm and comfortable as possible. Demand for our counselling service is growing every day and being able to finish this room means that we will be able to offer more clients counselling each week.

Jane, thank you so much for your generosity.  As a small charity with limited funds, donations such as this make a huge difference to how we are able to support clients.

*not the client’s real name as they wish to remain anonymous.

Recent fundraising and grants

August 25th, 2017 by

We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has supported us recently with fundraising. Any money raised for the service, or any grants we are awarded allows us to continue the work we do with our clients.

Firstly, one of our volunteers raised just over £1,000 for the service by running the Tough Mudder with her son.Thank you Sam!

Our thanks go to the local fire station who raised £400 for the service with a fundraising event held at Grantham’s Asda.

We have also been lucky enough to have been awarded a £50,000 grant from the PCC. Thank you for your support.

All money raised or grants awarded goes directly to the service, allowing us to recruit more volunteers which in turn allows us to offer more counselling spaces to anyone who lives in Lincolnshire and has been affected by rape or sexual abuse. We don’t ask our clients to pay for their counselling sessions, meaning that more people are able to come and receive support from us. Fundraising and grants means that we are able to keep offering our services for free.

Thank you to everyone who has supported us recently!

Volunteer Tough Mudder Fundraiser

March 14th, 2017 by

Sam and her 11 year old son are taking on Tough Mudder to raise money for Trust House Lincolnshire. The course is 5 miles with 15 gruelling obstacles with the children tackling a mile course with 7 obstacles.

As a service we rely on generous donations to ensure sustainability for the benefit of our clients. We have clients ranging from as young as 4 and as old as 75, with your generosity we can ensure our clients receive the appropriate levels of support  for the foreseeable future and to develop further support.

We’re aiming to raise £1,000 to Trust House Lincolnshire . Please donate to my JustGiving Crowdfunding Page and help make it happen:
